Hazrat Ali (R) - Paragraph
Hazrat Ali (R) Was born on 20 September 601 AD in Makkah. He was the cousin and son-in-law of the Prophet of Islam. He belonged to the most respectable family of Quraish, the Banu Hashim. His father Abu Talib was the uncle of the Holy Prophet (Sm). Ali's mother was Fatiuah Bint Azad. The Holy Prophet took Ali in his childhood from his father and brought him like his son. Hazrat Ali (R) was the first child to accept Islam. He accepted Islam at the age of ten. Ali was appointed Caliph by the companions of the Muhammad (Sm) in Madina after the assassination of the third Caliph Uthman bin Affan and ruled the Islamic Caliphate from 655 to 661. In 622, the year of Muhammad's to the Holy Prophet (Sm) and this closeness was changed to a permanent relationship when he married his most beloved daughter. Fatimah (R) Hazrat Ali (R) was very brave. He participated almost all the battles against the non believers during the time of the Holy Prophet (Sm). Because of his bravery he was popularly called "Asadullah" (The Lion of Allah). He was a great Scholar. The Holy Prophet (Sm) said about him. "I am the city of knowledge and Ali is its gate." Ali was attacked one morning while praying in the mosque of Kufa and died two days after on 27 January 661.
