Sir Jagadish Chandro Bose - Paragraph
Sir Jagadish Chandro Bose was a Bengali polymath, physicist, biologist, archeologist, as microwave optics, made significant contribution to plant science. He invented the crescography. He was born in 30 November 1858. His father Bhagawan Chandra Bose was a Deputy Collector. The Bose family had their original home in the village of Rarikhal in Bikrampur. He passed the entrance examination from St. Xavier's School in Kolkata in 1875. and BA in Science group in 1879 from Calcutta University. Later he obtained the BA degree of the Cambridge University and the B.Sc. degree of the London University in 1884. Upon his return to India JC Bose was appointed Assistant Professor of Physics at the Presidency College, Calcutta. In 1894 Jagadish Chandra started his research career and devised a series experiments. On the basis of his experiments he was awarded DSC degree by London University in 1896. JC Bose retired from Presidency College in 1915. In 1917 he founded the Bose Institute for plant Physiological researches. He visited Europe and USA on several scientific missions. He was Knighted in 1916. In 1920, he was elected to the Fellowship of the Royal Society of London. Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose died on 23 November 1937.
