Environment Pollution - Paragraph

All our surroundings including air, water, soil, trees, animals make up our environment. These elements are closely related to one another. When the normal relations among these elements of nature are interrupted, the ecological balance is hampered and it is called environmental pollution. It is detrimental to life. The smoke from factories and motor vehicles contains harmful substances like carbon monoxide and sulphur dioxide. These hamper the cleanliness of the air. This polluted air causes various diseases to human beings such as pneumonia, bronchitis and other respiratory diseases. Water is polluted in various ways. Mills and factories set up on riverbanks throw chemical wastes in the river water. These poisonous substances are destroying the plants and aquatic life. Pesticides and chemical fertilizers are used in agriculture and these things pollute water. When people drink this water or take a bath in the polluted water, they are attacked with stomach and skin diseases. We can  prevent air pollution by planting trees in large number. Because trees take in all the poisonous gases and produce oxygen which is necessary for life. And water pollution can be prevented by proper waste management. We should control wastes by passing and enforcing laws. And we should do these things to live a happy and healthy life.
