Technical education is a new concept in the field of education. It means education with practical knowledge. It is a kind of education that helps improve our basic education. The aim of education is to make a man fully helpful for himself and for society.
But the system of education in our country is faulty. It is not helpful for practical life because it is academic, theoretical and bookish. After finishing his study when a person enters the practical life, he faces the problems and complexities of the world. He finds no similarity between his education and the practical world. So, he is to depend upon others as his guides in the wide sea of life. The university degree does not make him capable of learning enough to earn his livelihood.
On the other hand, vocational education aims at making a person fit for a particular vocation in life. The object is to provide the young learners with a sure foothold in the struggle of life. Thus technical education helps a man to be fully equipped for himself and for society. The education systems of our country should be replanted and readjusted to the need of society. The students who are studying general subjects should be provided with technical education so that they are able to fight against the obstacles faced in their practical life.
Moreover, priority should be given to technical or vocational education for the better future of our next generation.
