The Rats and the Piper - Story

A town was badly infested with rats. The city fathers were at a loss. They promised to give a high reward to the man who will to get rid of them. Then a piper came there and said to them, “I can free the city of the rats if you give me the reward.” The city fathers at once agreed. Then the piper began to play his wonderful tune. Hearing this, all the rats of the city came out of the houses and surrounded him. He then led them to a nearby river where they were drowned. Now he claimed his reward from the city fathers but they refused to pay. At this, the piper became very angry and wanted to take a sweet revenge. He then played another beautiful tune. Enchanted, all the children of the city gathered in front of him. He then led them all to mountain cave never to return, much to the grief of their parents.
